Wednesday Nights at church this fall, we are studying Ezra & Nehemiah. I am VERY excited.

Why Study Ezra & Nehemiah?

I recently read that E&N rank pretty low on the scale of the church’s biblical interest. I suppose I get it… but I am thankful it’s there nevertheless. In a fun way, it’s not one of the most traveled sections of scripture.

Because we seek to follow Jesus, being transformed into a mirror of His image — it’s right for us to study scripture, really we should be captive to the scriptures — it should be our hope, our life, our hobby, and our muse. After all, it is the very inspired Word of God. And Jesus was the Word made flesh. I will submit to you, there is no greater place to run to and abide, than God’s Word.

Ezra & Nehemiah have historically gone together, it’s a story that continued, not originally two separate books. It’s a great story of renewal, both of the Israelites hearts and their hands. Like us, they lived in a world that didn’t understand them, worked against them at times, and they struggled to remain faithful.

SO — this fall, we’re going to spend 12 weeks studying through Ezra & Nehemiah. The hope is for us to see God’s faithfulness, help us understand obedience, remain steadfast in perseverance, and even gain a stability that can only be found in scripture that points to the work of Jesus.

I just want to make this available for folks who are out of town, or who’s schedules don’t allow them to join us.
